Rachel Pickett, PMHNP

Counselor

Hi, I'm Rachel! I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and founder of Rooted Christian Counseling.

The Lord started my journey to this career path long before I was aware of it. As a child, I endured major health struggles that caused anxiety and depression to be a part of my life. But the Lord intended good to come out of these struggles.

My own health story led me to pursue a career in the field of nursing. I spent four years as a med-surg nurse, one year as an oncology nurse, and one year as a school nurse. Throughout this time, I learned that many of the patients I saw not only needed medical help, but also a listening ear to offer support and guidance. Being able to provide this filled me with great joy. At this point in my life, I felt the Lord tugging at my heart, guiding me to return to school to obtain a degree that would allow me to pursue a career in mental health counseling. He is faithful, opened all the right doors, and led me to the path of becoming a PMHNP. I graduated in 2024.

The Lord has used my own life and my own struggles to fuel my love for deep, meaningful

conversation. Being able to walk alongside individuals who are facing their own mental health struggles is such an honor. I am passionate about looking at mental health from a holistic perspective and believe that there are many external influences on mental health. My aim is to offer guidance and care from a biblical perspective to those who are searching for hope and healing.

Rooted Christian Counseling opened in 2025, offering a place of safety, hope, and Christ-centered healing.

Reaching out for counseling is rarely an easy decision, but it is often a meaningful one--an intentional step toward change, clarity, and restoration.

At Rooted, we come alongside individuals as they navigate seasons that feel overwhelming, confusing, or heavy to carry alone. We desire to help you find steadiness again--practically, emotionally, and spiritually--through care that is grounded in biblical truth and shaped by compassion.

We recognize that healing doesn't look the same for everyone. Each person brings a unique story, set of struggles, and path forward. Because of that, counseling is never treated as "one-size-fits-all." Instead, we work thoughtfully to discern what tools, insights, and Christ-centered guidance best support your growth and healing.

At Rooted, the goal is not to just get through what you're facing, but to move toward lasting hope, stability, and renewal in Christ.
